Wood River's terrain was shaped over a period of years by overflow from the Platte river and a nearby creek.
The water created an aesthetic golf scape. Dry culverts and shallow depressions swirl around natural mounds and plateaus that once stood above water.
Well-conditioned domed greens are hard to hold due to their shape.
A pond comes into play on the dogleg 3rd hole. It sits at the bend in the fairway and dares you to hit over it.
The 4th hole is the most scenic. It has a slightly raised green surrounded by woods and fronted by a long trap.
Wood River Country Club is also proud of its excellent Junior program.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 300. Go north on Hwy 11 about 2.5 miles to the Wood River Country Club sign. Turn right on the gravel road and go 1 mile to the entrance on your right.
