Highlands offers a contrasting golf experience for local golfers.
Highlands is an open, windswept links style course with huge sand traps and some tough water carries. It was designed by the same designer that created The Champions in Omaha.
The par 4, 7th features the largest sand trap in the state. It encompasses 1.2 acres and is wider than the fairway.
The layout's gigantic greens allow repeated opportunities for 3 putting. Water comes into play most notably on the 9th and 18th hole.
The 9th is one of the best holes in the state. You must decide whether to attempt a 215 yard water carry or to "chicken out" to the right from the tee.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 399 (Lincoln Municipal Airport). Go north on NW 12th St 1.6 miles to the entrance on your left (be careful as you cross the railroad tracks on NW 12th).
