Prairie Hills is a Scottish links style course situated just north of Kearney.
The back nine was added in 1996, rounding out a complete 18-hole challenge.
It features large, well-cared-for greens and lush fairways. The rough consists of foot-high prairie grass and wildflowers. Ponds and bunkers are found on several holes.
Creative course design provides a variety of tricky shots and pleasant golf vistas.
The tenth hole begins the back nine with maybe one of the toughest holes with an uphill tee shot over a marsh area to a narrow fairway lined with Nebraska gorse.
The course came under new ownership in the Fall of 2001 and many improvements have been made, including a brand new clubhouse.
There is also a ski slope business nearby for great winter fun.
Prairie Hills is well worth the trip.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 272 (Kearney). Go north through town on 2nd Avenue, and continue on as it joins Hwy 10, a total of 14.9 miles. The course sign will be on the right.
