This pretty layout has a degree of difficulty that is unapparent until you are out on the course.

The first six holes have out-of-bounds down the right side and are particularly unkind to a novice with a slice. The fairways are narrow. The primary rough is in great shape and is negotiable, but just beyond the first cut of rough are strips of punishing prairie grass and wild flowers.

A creek bisects the course and runs across the landing zone on the 3rd and 9th holes. A wide variety of midsize trees are scattered throughout the course.

Hidden Hills is worth a visit.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 353 (York). Go south 19.6 miles on Hwy 81 to the first right turn (R Street) in Geneva. Turn right and go 1.1 miles (keep going as the pavement turns to gravel) to the entrance on your left.
