Fairbury Country Club is a winding hilly layout with an intimidating aspect to much of its scenery.

Holes 3 through 8 are a very challenging series. From the 3rd tee you hit slightly downhill to a narrow fairway with outof- bounds tight right and trees and sand left. The gravel entrance road cuts across the fairway.

The tee shot on 4 is one of the scariest in Nebraska. You hit from an elevated tee over a ravine and through a shoot of trees. The landing area is lined by a road to the right, and by a deep swale and a pond on the left.

Much of the course's difficulty is attributable to the fact that six of the nine tees are blind to the flag, leaving you confused about the proper line. Trees, steep rises and bending fairways obscure your view of the greens.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 373 (Seward). Go south on Hwy 15 about 50 miles to the Hwy 136 intersection. From the intersection, continue south 3.0 miles (through Fairbury) on Hwy 15 to the unnamed road on your left. Turn left and go .1 miles to the entrance on your left.
