Another of Marty Johnson's nine hole creations, Crooked Creek is a pleasant track located just west of downtown Clay Center.
It features wide landing areas and large bent grass greens that are surrounded with mounds.
It is named for its most menacing hazard. The Little Sandy Creek winds its way in and out of fairways and widens into four ponds. The Little Sandy cuts across fairways 2, 8 and 9 at 200 to 240 yards from the tee.
The long par 3, 3rd is the most demanding hole. It has a narrow fairway with out-of-bounds on the left and the creek on the right.
Crooked Creek is a fun course.

Directions from I-80: Take I-80 to Exit 332 (Aurora). Go south about 18 miles on Hwy 14 to Hwy 6. Turn right and go 3 miles to Hwy 14 South. Turn left and go 4 miles on Hwy 14 to Johnson St. on the north side of Clay Center. Turn right and go about 5 blocks to the entrance on your right.
